Yesh... Weekends is finally approaching... Ahhh... A nice 2 days break from work... From screaming kids and headaching projects....
Hmm.. Wait a sec...
OH NO! I can't enjoy my weekend... Sobzz... Cuz I've gotta attend another lessons... to prepare for my Certification in Excel..
Sigh... The "LITTLE" things you have to give up in life...
Oh well.. for my future's sake.. NO CHOICE... So many things are really not up to us to control right.. Kinda sucky...
But nice to know that on this friday afternoon, I am having 3 "fans" from my previous school which I've taught. Very sweet girls!
Well well... after a couple of years without exams, (excluding the ones I took for Insurance)... I've to take another exam on 23rd August... It is to certify that I'm an EXPERT in Microsoft Word XP. LOL
Well Well... I am proud to announce that I am an Expert already having pass the test!
Oh well... if only during my time in Poly, we are being trained to be come an expert or at least to know more about the different functions of word, rather than just using it to type.
Still remember our report was more than 500 pages thick, with many different topics.
How many of us out there actually know there's a function call Table of Contents?
Imagine having to come out with a TOC for a report of 500 over pages... without using the function? A BIG headache!
But now at least I can help my brother spare the headache. LOL
Lucky him then...
Heee~
Just yesterday (20th Aug 2005), i met up with my fren who came all the way from Holland. Well... a short history behind me having a fren from Holland - I went to Holland when I finished in Primary 1. Supposedly migrated over there, don't ask me why we are back, ask my parents! LOL.. anyway, stayed there and study there for 3 years... She's a chinese, who's born there. So we played when we were young. After I came back... I'm around 10 years old.
So... I'm now.... 23, so that's 13 years ago since we last met!
Well, in between all these years, of course we stayed in touch. Firstly, the snail mail... sending letters now and then, greeting cards... And as technology advanced, emailing each other, and more recently the MSN messaging.
So we had no trouble recognizing each other when we first met.
I would say, both of us really look so similar.
Both our parents would call us "Ling Ling". Thats the first common thing... Then throughout the day that I brought her out, exploring Sentosa, and Suntec City, the more similarities there was. LOL
And We Both like DISNEY! well.. there's lotsa NEMO in Underwater World now... So kids, ask your parents to bring you there. Parents, bring your kids there.. Its an enriching experience.
Well... Another similarity, both of us are studyin in the same field, the service/hospitality industry.
Maybe I should go back to Holland there to work. Afterall, working there, I'll be earning EUROs, which is about twice the value. So if i earn 1k there, in SGD would be around 2K!
But not sure if I can stand the loneliness and being apart from my family.
After having a fun day, I made an remark. Hopefully after you returned to Holland, the next time we meet, would not be another 10 years.. By then, we'll most likely be married with kids. LOL
It was great fun. Will post Photos soon.
and for info - Underwater World's latest exhibit = Sea Angels... They are so small, and cute and.... really look like angels!
See it to believe it. Can't believe pple can find something so small in the large oceans out there...
Hmmm... Food for thought for all you guys studying in the "University of Society"
aka working world. LOL
1 year has 365 days
52 weeks
1 month has 4 weeks
12 mths has 48 weeks
52 weeks - 48 weeks = 4 weeks... What happens to this 4 weeks?
Anyway, doesn't matter wat happens to them, but next time when you get a 13th month bonus, its not really a bonus, YOU deserved it! And heard that it is now not compulsory to give the "bonus"! How can they do this to us!!
Guess this post come in a little tad late.. Hee... Officially Singapore's National Day is on the 9th August. Marks our nation's independance in 1965. Well well.. Singapore sure has come a long way since then.
Well, ain't goin conduct history lessons now, but what makes it significant to me this year was the that I was able to watch the parade "LIVE" right at the padang for the first time.
Well well... I must say, holding the parade at the Padang is definitely the better choice than at our National Stadium at Kallang.
2 Plus points
+ Accessibility
+ Ease of human traffic
Well, its definitely easier to get to the padang than to the national stadium, and when the whole event ended, all the crowds are able to disperse easily, no more traffic jams and human jams!
All thanx to my aunt who gave my brother the tickets and thanx to my brother who saw me bored at home and invited me along, instead of his friend! Thanx BRO!
*^_^*
Pros celebrating at the parade
- Soaked into the atmosphere,
- Free goodie bag
- Best view for fireworks! The highlight of all times
Cons
- Perspiring under the hot sun, or getting soaked under rain
- Can't see the whole performance clearly (maybe they need to include binoculars in the goodie bag)
- No easy access to the toilets
Which would I prefer?
Having a good weather - Definitely at the scene of action!
(Since there's always a repeat telecast of the parade during the weekends)
Wishes for Singapore -
* Lower unemployment (Less people who are having a hard time)
* Higher INCOME $$$$ (More money for me to spend)
* Cheaper COE (So that I can afford car next time)
* NO TERRORISM (Applicable to the whole world)
* More Number ONEs to our name! YAY
* MAY SINGAPORE GROW MORE AND MORE PROSPEROUS!!
They say... Time flies when you're having fun. Well... I do hope that time doesn't fly when you are having fun, but when we are working / suffering.
Just last saturday, 30th July, my cousin celebrated her daughter's first month.
It jus seems like yesterday when I was just a babe myself. I still can remember vividly all the memories of babyhood (through photos), childhood, primary school days, Days in Holland, Secondary school days, and all of a sudden, I find myself a graduate from a Polytechnic and a working adult now.
Time pass by so quickly, and now my 3 of my cousins are married, all with kids, and I have 5 nieces and nephews. OH MY!! Though looking at babies does seem to make an impression on me. LOL Just today, about an hour ago, I read this email from Tickle Newsletter, they have many sorts of tests for you to try out. And one of the tests featured today was "Are you ready to be a Mom?" (Hmmm...Coincident?)
Well... out of curiousity, I decided to give it a try. The test was pretty simple.
Hmm... My Results - "ALMOST ready to change my name to mommy"
LOL... Guess its due to my in-born maternal instinct.
Well... Making babies is still pretty far from my mind at this point of time. Firstly, I would need to find a daddy, and it isn't cheap to have a little one... You gotta worry about its education fees in the future, all the immunity shots, travelling, holidaying, etc...
Thinking of expenses is already giving me a headache. LOL
Oh well...
For those who wanna try all the different tests out there, here's the link

In the meantime, let me find my potential hubby first, before having babies talk!
Tot Ziens
