Guess this post come in a little tad late.. Hee... Officially Singapore's National Day is on the 9th August. Marks our nation's independance in 1965. Well well.. Singapore sure has come a long way since then.
Well, ain't goin conduct history lessons now, but what makes it significant to me this year was the that I was able to watch the parade "LIVE" right at the padang for the first time.
Well well... I must say, holding the parade at the Padang is definitely the better choice than at our National Stadium at Kallang.
2 Plus points
+ Accessibility
+ Ease of human traffic
Well, its definitely easier to get to the padang than to the national stadium, and when the whole event ended, all the crowds are able to disperse easily, no more traffic jams and human jams!
All thanx to my aunt who gave my brother the tickets and thanx to my brother who saw me bored at home and invited me along, instead of his friend! Thanx BRO!
*^_^*
Pros celebrating at the parade
- Soaked into the atmosphere,
- Free goodie bag
- Best view for fireworks! The highlight of all times
Cons
- Perspiring under the hot sun, or getting soaked under rain
- Can't see the whole performance clearly (maybe they need to include binoculars in the goodie bag)
- No easy access to the toilets
Which would I prefer?
Having a good weather - Definitely at the scene of action!
(Since there's always a repeat telecast of the parade during the weekends)
Wishes for Singapore -
* Lower unemployment (Less people who are having a hard time)
* Higher INCOME $$$$ (More money for me to spend)
* Cheaper COE (So that I can afford car next time)
* NO TERRORISM (Applicable to the whole world)
* More Number ONEs to our name! YAY
* MAY SINGAPORE GROW MORE AND MORE PROSPEROUS!!

Have never seen the NDP first hand. Will have to procure some tickets and see it someday. Heh!
