Suddenly....

In Mr Bean's 1st movie, there's a song called "Yesterday" and it has a verse that goes...

Suddenly... I'm not half the man I used to be....
In my case for the past couple of days, the lyrics should go:

Suddenly.... I'm having a high fever (never mind that it doesn't go with the tune.. Heh)
This sudden attack of the virus has really caught me by surprise. It was around 2230, tuesday night, was logging off the pc, and getting ready for bed. I remembered that night was rather hot and humid, but imagine I was shivering cold, to the extend that I didn't on the fan and was covering myself with my comforter!

My mom got a shock when she came back around 2320. Its off to the clinic that opens till midnight. Lucky not many people fall sick in the middle of the night. I was wearing my sec school jacket, and still shivering...

The doc examine me, and say the fever most likely is caused by my sore throat, which I absolutely didn't feel any pain in the throat till later that night, when I reach home.
Well, when the virus attack, you'll never know when its your turn.

It cost me SGD 58 and was given 2 days MC. So whole of the 2 days, I've been groggy and sleepy. Eat, take medicine, sleep, and the cycle goes on.

I would say my fever has subside, but now I'm having the worst case of cough and sore throat ever! Just open my mouth a bit only, sure cough. And together with sore throat, coughing sure is a painful action. And currently, as I'm typing out this post, I've a towel wrapped around my neck, acting like a shawl. At least it helps a bit.

So many people falling sick around me... I think its my colleague who passed it to me~

Hope I'll recover soon and crossing my fingers that it's not Dengue Fever!

In the Month of March

This is the month where a lot of companies do their financial year closing, same goes for my co. So this is also the month where I went for my first Dinner and Dance, aka DnD.

The theme for our DnD was Arabian Nights, the not very ONz me, as well the whole of my department didn't get ourselves any costumes. However our neighbouring department all very onz. And here they are -

Aren't they pretty and handsome?
Hehe.. So you can tell that those not in costumes are all from my department.

The food's okay, all very spicy, buffet style. The place where the DnD was held is at Cafe Del Mar, quite a new cafe along the beach, nice environment to chill with your buddies and gossip.

Not too lucky at this year's lucky draw, didn't win anything at all, but just won a prize for going on stage and answering a question. Hehehe... Won a bottle of Chardonnay; voucher for 5 jugs of Tiger Beer and $20 voucher for Giant/7-11/Cold Storage. Not too bad, guess I won more than 50 worth of prizes. Hehehe...

On the 24th of Mar, just a couple of days ago, I brought my whole family plus my bro's gf to Sentosa. As I got staff preview tix to the all new attraction - Songs of The Sea; so I decided to bring everyone there before the show starts and have fun at the island, since the last time my parents are there I think more than a decade ago.

Anyway, we went to my workplace, Sentosa Cove for starters. Show them our showroom, my workplace where we have wonderful view of the sea and the mega yachts, and also my messy workstation. Hehehe... Anyway, if you have read bout it, messy desks = high productivity!.

Told my folks that if they are lucky enough, they'll be able to see peacocks! True enough on board of the mini bus moving out of Cove, I pointed out to my dad a pea-hen near the road side. Then the bus uncle pointed out in front, a peacock with all its beautiful tail up, but its his behind that's facing us. Then the uncle so kindly called out to the peacock, who obediently turned around and show us his proud feathers. It was so beautiful!! Too bad I forgot to take a pict. Sigh...

After Cove, I brought us to the Merlion. This time round, I didn't forget to take out the camera. Heheh.. Here it is..

Don't know where my mom is looking at and why my dad closed his eyes. This was taken inside the merlion.

This was taken on top of the Merlion, a kind ang mo took for us. All 5 of us. Nice scenery eh.

Well, my mom and dad got family pass, so they got in for free, but don't understand why my bro not considered as part of my family to be eligible for the pass. LOL.. Anyway, I just paid for them and since the 2 of them are Islander, they got discount rates. Still not too bad.

After that I brought them to 4D magix. This attraction is not managed by Sentosa, so I was prepared to pay for 5 tix. To my surprise, I was eligible to go in for free, just need to pay for the 4 of them at a discount. So still not bad!

We waited for quite a while before we are able to go into the theatre. It was very crowded and luckily we were early, as after the show, we saw how long the queue had gotten. It was a first time experience for the 4 of them, and we all enjoyed ourselves. And this time round, the water spurted out seems to be much more! LOL..

After the show, we headed to Beach Station via Sentosa Express, to get ourselves registered for the show which is starting at 740pm. We were given a chop on our left hand to certify that we have already registered and mind you, it not those kind of chop where it'll illuminate under special lights, its just a plain old regular blue-inked chop! Aiyo...

After the registration, we took the train to Vivo and had Carls' Jr for dinner. Walked awhile and went back to Beach station. While waiting for admission, we walked around the area. Soon many of the staff starts gathering at the entrance of attractions, so we head back and waiting and lined up in front. As this show is free seating, so everyone hoped to get the better seats.

Songs of the Sea is like musical fountain, except it has better laser display, fireworks, and its the first to be done in sea; and since this time round it has fireworks, it's gonna cost $6. As no flash photography is allowed, I only took a few photos when it was bright.

Songs of the Sea will be open to public starting on 27th March 2007, first show starting at 740pm. Alas, the old musical fountain shall be gone and it has performed its last on 26th March 2007, 840pm.
The musical fountain had to give way as the area it was occupying is part of the land given to build the new IR, Resorts World.

Here's part of the fireworks

The End...
