My 25th Birthday Celebration

Wow... How time just flew by! My 25th Birthday has just gone by a couple of weeks ago, and I got quite a bit of presents! Hehehe... I didn't have the chance to have a big celebration on my 21st Birthday, so I thought of having one this year, but due to many reasons such as -

My birthday didn't fall on a weekend; No lobang to book a big bungalow chalet; and thinking it would be much better to be given a surprise party, so I didn't go ahead with my planning. Haha..

Nevertheless, I still have a wonderful time this year.

On Wednesday, we had a mini celebration during our lifenet
Yup, most of the princesses were able to make it that day. So happy to see so many of them. After the cake, Viv brought durian pancakes! WOW.. Its sooo... creamy and filled with durian paste. NICE!

I took leave on thursday and my parents also changed their off days to celebrate with me on thursday! Aren't they sweet. Hee~

In the morning, we had a bit of breakfast, and started to get ready to go out for a nice Japanese lunch buffet @ Turf City. We decided to go for it, as my mom saw on the papers that they're having promotion, and seems rather cheap. We took a cab there and when we reach Turf City, we called up the restaurant trying to find out where's the location, as on the papers, they didn't mention the unit of the restaurant.

I called up and was told by the staff that they are located at level 3! So we found the lift and when we went up there, we couldn't find it! So I called them again and this time he say, they're at level 2! Maybe I'm deaf, and could tell apart a "tree" and a "to". So we took the stairs and walk again and this time, there's no level 2! ARGHH~!

So my mom called and this time they say they're at level 1! OMG... Anyway, we manage to find it. A couple of days before, my mom called to make reservations, who knows when we reach, the person just asked, "Any reservations?" My mom just said "Yes", and the manager just led us in. LOL... I don't know is it that we were the table of 4 that reserved, or they just accept "YES" for reservation.

It was ala-carte buffet, quite a nice quiet place. The food served is pretty okay. Slightly above average. After the lunch, we walked around Turf City, and my folks decided to buy a new sofa. And for the first time, it not a leather sofa! Hahah, as far as I know, all the sofa's has been at least half leather. As we were making the final transactions, Dorcas called me and said she has reached Turf City. I had arranged to meet up with her as she has wanted to meet up with me, and also as I was on leave.

My parents saw her briefly and I got on her car and we made our way to a nearby coffee bean.

We chatted for quite a long time, and I got to know that in SG, you can actually home-schooled your kids! About 2 hours later, we left the place, and I made my way back.

My dad went to my grandma's place and my bro & mom went to get my cake and buy some grocery. So I was the first to reach home so I bathed and get ready the Majong table.

My dad came back first, and pass me a present from my aunt. She bought me another bottle of perfume! Yay... As my first bottle was finishing and I was about to buy a new bottle. God is good! I saved the money. Hee~

And when my mom & bro reached home, it was around 545pm. They got ready the cake, (YES The BIG Yellow Durian CAKE!) and got ready to sing the birthday song. Exactly 25 years ago, at 603pm, I was born.

As we were still quite full from the buffet, we just had a bit of the cake. And after the cake, we began our majong session. Hmm.. although it was my birthday, I didn't win.. Anyway, lucky thing was that I manage to only lose $3 after almost 5 hours of "fight". We only played for 2 rounds.

My brother and GF has been very sweet. I got quite a lot of things from them:

A pair of sports shoes, an Esprit make-up pouch with chocolates, and a voucher to redeem a pair of Crocs!
*Picture does not represent actual product*
Its the same design, but of a different colour, and as the stock has run out, so my bro made the effort to come up with a coupon, for me to redeem from him. Hahaha.. At first, I didn't realise it was my bro's name and mobile written on the paper. Hahah... Can be used as a good April Fool's Joke!
Thanks Bro and Zhen~! Very sweet and thoughtful of you.

Oh~ Almost forgot, it's my blog's 2nd year birthday too!~ WOW.. How time really flies.. So fast its been 2 years already... A lot of things has really changed. I still remember just writting about it's 1st birthday!
Am glad to know that I'll be changing for the better everyday with God.
Thank you Lord, for coming into my life and giving me a new life; showing me how much you love me.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

On 15Th, the day after church celebration, we were having Pastor John Steele with us. He's a very anointed servant of God whose gifting is in prophesy.
I was very excited as I can't wait to get my prophesy! And it's a good thing that our church recorded for each one of us the prophesy so that we can go back to listen again and again. As I could not really recall what was said to me on the actual day, I just got back the CD and listened to it.
Here's the gist of what Pastor has told me:
Spirit of God says I'm going to lift disappointments from your life today.
You've walked a pathway as you've hidden, hidden from yourself, hidden from life itself;
You've been hidden from people;
You hadn't really exposed myself as to who You really are and who You can be and
You've stood back in the crowd, You've not wanted to be in the front,
You've not wanted to be exposed.
You've just been very careful and cautious about Your life.
Because when you risked yourself for one point of time, you were made a fool out of.
The Spirit of the Lord says I BREAK the power of that in Your life today, I POWERFULLY BREAK that in your life today in Jesus Name.
The Spirit of the Lord is going to minister to you today and set you powerfully free! You'll be an amazing woman of God to minister into the lives of people.
I fell under the power of God and started to cry out loud as he breaks that in my life. Most of my friends indeed can testify that I'm always hiding, not to exposed myself out, keeping to myself, but no one knows how I've been made a fool of. And how do you expect a stranger to know all these? Except from God... who planted into him this issue that I have to get rid of.
And the reason why I'm posting it so detailed on my blog because I've nothing to hide. The whole church present heard what was said to me anyway, and by hiding issues, the devil can work on it, but when you bring it up to the surface, God'll forgive, and heal up the wound.
He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth. And He will be their peace.

Church Anniversary 14-07-2007

14th July 2007

We are celebrating the 8th Anniversary of New Life Community Church!
During the week, I've been wanting to cut my hair and participate in the celebration with a new look. Vain hor~ Hahaha... Nah.. Just want to have a fresh start.

Anyway, I went to my usual stylist to get my hair cut. And I prayed as I reach his place that I'll have a nice hair style. And then he asked me how I want to cut. I just told him to cut how short, etc. and he remarked: "Wha, so short? You don't look nice in short hair. Your face will appear to be even more round!" Then I just told him, I just want to have it short. Cause even as I have long hair, I'll still tie them up anyway, and its getting so hot nowadays. And he started to cut and trim and kept reminding me that I won't look nice in short hair, and warn me, saying "Don't say I never warn you, he even blew dry my hair to illustrate how my hair would look like once it's dry, before he style it for me. I just told him that I just want to have it short, and he remarked once again, "So you just want to have it short and not to look pretty ah?" I just said "YES!" LOL..

After I got a nice hair cut, I was quite happy with it, and I thought it really looked good. But then as the stylist kept saying I don't look nice, I started having second thoughts.
I came back home to change, and do some housework before heading out to church earlier to help out. Then I put on my make-up and looking really nice before heading out.
As I made my way, I felt people looking at me, and I thought whether my hair was really terrible.

Then I decided, I don't care how people look at me. I think God has bless me with this hairstyle, and I'm happy with it, why should I bother! So I just made my way to church feeling confident.

Once I reach church, and stepped into the admin office to help out, my fellow sisters called out to me! LYNN!! WOW.. YOU LOOK VERY NICE LEH~ LIKE PRINCESS WOR... YOU LOOK SO MUCH NICER IN SHORT HAIR!

I felt so happy when I heard that! Not often people say I pretty leh.. Hahaha... Anyway, as we were wrapping gift items and stuffs, they kept telling me and assuring me that I look nice ~

And after helping with the wrapping, as I stepped into church, some of my friends couldn't recognise me! They thought I was a guest of someone! LOL... I worried for nothing whether I looked nice or not! And throughout the night, I guess God just wants to assure me again and again that I really look good with this new hairstyle. Cause I didn't hear a single negative comment and all comments made are all positive! Hallelujah!

That night's dinner was scrumptious! There was sushi, dessert, kuey, mee siam, chicken, fish, beef rendang, lasagna etc...

I was so full that I was worried whether I was able to jump and shout later for praise and worship! LOL.. Lucky, God was good. I was still able to jump and have fun and no stomachache! Hehehe... After praise and worship, Pastor shared about how much our church has grown and shared some testimony.

Our church has been a church of healing. And he shared about a 70+ year old uncle, who previously suffered from lung cancer. He was told by doctors that he's already in the last stage and that he only have around 3.5 months to live! And when he came to be healed, he said that he felt "Hotness" around his chest area, and the following day when he went back for his health check, the doctor actually told him that he's been totally cured! There's not a single trace of cancer cell in him. God has healed him instantly on that day!
And recently he came back for another check just to be sure, and guessed what. He's totally cured and the doctor was very happy! Pastor even said, those who do not believe him, can check with the uncle who has got medical records.

Another amazing thing has happened to Pastor himself or rather his father-in-law. It's really too amazing to share here. If you want to know, I'll tell you. God's so awesome. He's doing super-natural things in our church that we cannot judge base on our own understanding/knowledge/logic.

After the sharing, it was ministering time. This time, we have Pastor John Steele with us, who's annointed with the gift of prophesizing. So I waited to be prayed for by him.
He just said that sweetness will come to me and then I was slain.

Next, I went up to be prayed for again, and Paul came up to me to pray for me. I don't remember the exact words, but it was something like gentleness be upon me and that he has seen the transformation in me and again I was slain.

After I got up, Paul suddenly called out to me, "Lynn, Lynn, come, I want to pray for you again"
So I went up to him again and it was on my career and that God will let me have the right career and that wisdom will be upon me and again, down I went. I was slain.

As I was lying there, Pastor Simon came by and said "The Joy of the Lord will be your strength!" Just like during the last day of church camp, I started laughing and laughing... And pastor came by a few times saying the same things and I kept on laughing. Again it just feel so wonderful to be pampered by God. :D

After I recovered, pastor was nearby and he said Hi and extended his hand to help up. I went up to a few other princesses and told them, this is what happened in church camp, except this time round was milder. They weren't able to make it for the camp.

As the service ended and everyone starts to leave, Paul came up to me and said, "Lucky I prayed for you the second time, otherwise you wouldn't have the joy again" :D
I must say the second round of minstering was really what I needed. I'm thinking of changing a new career and wanted it to be where God wants me to go. Most likely the change will come about next year.
