God's So Sweet

Just gonna be a short entry...
I was just feeling so upset today at work. So many things happening, no understanding from colleagues...
This was the first time tears just rolled off my eyes in the office...
I even rushed off to the washroom to wash up and cry what ever tears is left...
And I just cry out to God... Why so unfair....

Moments after I came back to my desk, My GM remarked. Whoa.. Raining!
It's raining (not drizzling, but really heavy rain) with the Sun still shining BRIGHTLY! The rain only lasted less than 5 min. As I'm typing, the rain has already stopped. Yes, the rain came suddenly and went suddenly.

God's just so sweet to me, sending me a short heavy downpour as if just telling me... I'm with you, I know when you're sad and the rain's washing away all your unhappiness.

A Fruitful Evening - 18 August 2007

Joyce Meyer was in town last weekend, and a group of us made our way to Singapore Expo to
catch her in action!
She is 64 years of age already, and yet full of energy and the way she speaks is so full of power and action! She even had on stage, a rocking chair to illustraits some of the points across.
The topic she's touching on is about Seizing the Moment and not Missing Opportunity; and we'll need to have a bold and courageous spirit for that as some things will come by only once. Like an example: When Jesus walked on water, Peter (his disciple) was the only one to be bold and courageous enough to ask for Jesus to allow him to walk on water too! While the rest of the disciples stayed on board of the ship.
We need to be a NOW person as God always has something for us everyday. A lot of us tend to waste the day by:
Using Today to Regret what has happend Yesterday
and
Using Today to Worry about what will happen Tomorrow! We have to LET GO of What's behind us. And what are we going to do with Today? We should SUCK every drop out of everyday, just like licking every single drop from a bowl of ice-cream.
Sometimes we're so affected by the people who don't like us, thinking about all the different reasons, etc. Well, we have to let go. Statistic says: 10% of the people around you will NEVER LIKE you anyway, so FOCUS on th remaining 90% then!
Be passionate about what you're doing. Your passtion about _______(fill in the blanks) could be God's purpose for you to be a blessing to others. And also,
Don't let others steal your dreams/visions when you're doing something out of the box.

~National Day Holiday!~ Part 2

Today is National Day! I woke up @ 11. We suppose to go down to my grandma's place for buffet lunch and a small gathering. My bro whipped up some eggs and honey sausage for breakfast. It's a nice treat!

We stayed till about 3 after lunch to watch a funny & lame show on tv. We made our way down to Bugis. With the Attractions card, We decided to try out The DHL Balloon.

Looking at the price board, I wouldn't have taken this trip if not for the card! It cost $23 for a trip of about 10 min! That's like paying $2 on a pay phone to talk for 1 min!

Anyway, it was quite exciting. Did I mention before, I do have a bit of a.. Fear of Heights!? LOL.. But the view was breathtaking....

Here's the pix of the 9000-people flag assembly. I think there's a record for it? Heard from the news! Our timing was quite good to have capture this!

And we went up the second time, hoping to see fireworks! But we board too early. LOL.. Anyway, here's the night scenery. Pretty right....
So with the card in hand, on both days I've saved:
Day 1: 3 x $10 = $30
Day 2: 3 x $23 x 2 = $138
Total: $168.00
WOW!! The next time I'm applying for this card would be in 2007. Hmmm... Will plan throughly to fully utilize the Card and visit ALL the attractions in Singapore
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!!

The National Day Holiday!~ Part 1

Count on me, Singapore... Yup, its the National Day Holiday again. And this year round, we didn't manage to get any NDP tix. However, I still have some great programes arranged for my family.

I took leave on Wed since Thurs was the holiday. Since my parents are off on Wed, I decided to bring them to some tour attractions in Singapore.
One great welfare about working in Sentosa, is that there's this Attractions card, which entitles you and 2 family members to all the attractions in SG FOC! Yes, Free of Charge! So with this card in hand, I actually wanted to fully utilise on Wed to bring my folks to zoo, bird park, night safari, etc... However, we had such a good sleep that we woke up almost noon! So we decided to only head down to Singapore Discovery Centre.

One of the main reason we chose to go SDC is that it's very near our place, just 10 stops away. And its some place we haven't been there before. As it's a weekday, and not school holiday, there isn't much of a crowd. So we practically have all the place to ourselves.

Timing was pretty good for us, when we reach there, and after getting the tix, we manage to catch the 1315 show, a 2D movie about fighter pilots & planes. Very huge screen and great sound effects. My folks liked it, though they don't understand English, I was translating part of the action to them.

And after the show, we went to have a look around the exhibits. And there was a tour guide bring some guests around, so we sort of followed them behind and listened to the explanations and stuffs. All the stuffs was pretty fun, but we had the most fun time with a robot named Little George. He was a very interactive robot where when you asked him a question, he'll reply you back. So my dad asked him a few questions like whether he can shake his hand, whether he speaks chinese, etc...

Then the tour group came by and one of the members actually asked a very typical singaporean question: "Can you give 4D no.?" The whole group waited patiently for the no. and it came to be: "1234" The whole group roared out in laughter and gave him a round of applause!

After the group left, my mom and dad came back to talk to him. So we found out a few other things: He's only 11 years old, birthday on 25 Nov 1996. He came from a place far away, and he can sing nursery rhymes! He sang to us baa baa black sheep. And when we applause, he's so courteous to say Thank you. Then I asked him to pose for us.
Before posing

After Posing

After the exhibits, they had a bus tour of SAFTI, a place where they train up officers. And after the tour, we decided to head back. Though we had plans to visit the Night Safari, but my mom's tired after all the walking, so we went for our late lunch/early dinner. And got back home for our mahjong game.
Had a great time with my family that night!

~My Celebrity Look-Alikes~
