What Is True Forgiveness.......

Just came back from my church camp about 1 week ago. It was awesome! We went back to the same resort in Port Dickson as last year.
Great experience there, was rather liberated and also had a great time knowing my friends especially when you're sharing the room with them. *^_^*

What I experienced at this year's camp was about forgiveness. How do you know you've truly forgiven someone? It's not just about going around telling yourself or others that I've forgiven so-and-so. Is there really such a thing as forgive and forget?

Usually we don't really forget things, especially things that causes us real hurts. It may be hidden somewhere in our mind, maybe we just choose not to 'retrieve' that particular data. But no doubt, the data is still there. (Lesson learnt from Edison's case, even deleting files, they still remain in your hard-disk) So what exactly is forgiveness? It is when even when you think back of the memories or the person, your don't feel any hatred, anger, sadness, disappointment etc anymore. Not easy to achieve, but I thank God I did it.

We are just like a cup, if we're filled with dirty water (such as unforgiveness, anger, hatred, etc), no matter how much goodness is poured in, the water will still remain as dirty. Only when we are willing to pour the dirty water out of the cup, and when the goodness is poured it, we really get the pure, good and tasty water.

If you forgive people their sins, your Father in heaven will forgive your sins also. If you do not forgive people their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15 (NLV)
