More than 2 weeks worth of updates

Been soo busy with work lately, and last weekend fell sick... Didn't manage to update the blog until now.... SO... Please slowly read through okie... :D

9th August 2006 (Wednesday)
Went with my cousin... to the NDP 2006. The first time she went to NDP was with my family at the Stadium, and the last time at the Stadium before it's torn down...
Watching the parade 'LIVE' as compared to on TV is a totally different kind of experience. It was very overwhelming for me... I almost cried... When we sang all the older national day songs like - Stand Up for Singapore; We are Singapore; etc.... In one united voice.... It's really hard to describe the feelings.

11th August 2006 (Friday)
A few days after the parade, I met up with my Holland friend, Ling-Ling. This time round, she just stayed for a few days here before heading back to Malaysia. Didn't manage to bring her around. We met at the Fireworks Festival held at the Esplanade. Her parents met up with mine, and we had a good chat.... It's been more than 10 years since our parents last met, while I last met her a year ago, also in August.

14th August 2006
Met up with my friend after work. He was sick over the weekend with flu & cough; saw the doc and took the antibiotics before meeting me for dinner so that he'll have the energy for the dinner. Happy and glad he took the trouble to meet me and staying alert.
We went to Turf City for some seafood. He chose a big crab weighing 1.7kg, bamboo clams; 'xiang ba pang' aka Geoduck Clam. The food was tasty... my first time trying the 2 clams.
Unfortunately our crab never came... Apparently, the kitchen mixed up the orders and our big crab went to another table... So sad.... We waited for quite long for the kitchen to clarify the order and get new crabs and cook and serve to us. By then we were quite full already. So I just tried 2 pieces, boy... the pincher is big.... They cooked it differently, it was not like the normal black pepper or chilli crab. I think it was fried with salted egg. Unique taste, though I don't take salted egg, I manage to swallow them this time.
Since they mixed up our orders, they 'compensate' us with a dessert. We chose mango pudding. But I think they should have done more.

Anyway, we decided to go for a movie after dinner, since it was still quite early. Manage to get to Jurong point in time and catch the movie 'Click'.
Just as we entered the cinema and settled down, the movie starts. Such perfect timing eh. The show is hilarious. Almost every other moment, you'll be laughing. But it's also very touching.... Many people are like Adam's character... Trying hard to work their way up the corporate ladder, and in the mean time neglected people closest to them. In his bid to become the partner of the company, he missed out many things in life... His kids growing up; his wife left him; his parents.... Maybe the story is just reflecting how our society is turnin to be. In the movie, it turned out to be a dream, so he can still rectify his actions, so it will not lead to the unfortunate ending.

18th - 20th August 2006
Fell sick.... Had the flu and sore throat on friday. Saturday my mom made me to go see a doc so that I can have a good rest on the weekend and no need to take MC for Monday. True enough,
I'm better on Monday...

Well, can't really afford to take MC now. Having an Auction event on Friday and we are moving office to start operations at the new office building on 1st Sept. And... There are still SO MUCH to be packed. My manager is pregnant, so she can't move; I'll have to pack her files and stuffs for her; more than 10 big cupboards of files is still waiting for me to pack them into the boxes....

Well, knowing my manager is pregnant, somehow has brought our working relationship closer. Strange in a way, but since I'm her assistant; during lunch, when she feel like taking something cold, then I'll remind her cannot eat, then sometimes I'll also tell her what food to take more and the nutrients they offer. Still remember a bit from my O-level's Food & Nutrition subject. LOL. And she'll tell me about her trips to the gynea, its soo interesting...
