In April, I had the honour of being one of the "Jie Mei" for my dear friend's wedding. (The first time I've been invited to be a Jie Mei! So exited and thankful for this opportunity.) She's one of first who befriended me when I first visited church. And it turned out that we stayed only 1 street apart. Those were the days when we would go to church and go home together... Enjoying the long chats on the trains. How I'm gonna miss those days!
For her wedding, I helped to layout her photo montage. Another sister beautified it and I was the technical person on her wedding day too. It has been fun. Helping her to play the music, ensuring that the correct song is played at the correct time and helping her set up to play the photos. Oh and to help her edit a little of her programme sheet.
This May on Vesak day, I have another wedding to attend and to help out. Also helping out with their photo montage and as an usher. Their theme is "Elegant". Thinking hard bout what to do for them.
Being involved (in minor ways) also sets me thinking bout my potential wedding. Hee~
Well..
Let this princess dream a little tonight.
I need to have a theme to begin with.
Hmmm... A Pink Wedding? Maybe my hubby-to-be would be a bit turned off, but I think he'll look great in pink, because he's Man enough to express his love for me . Heehee...
Hmmm... A Jazzy Wedding? Wow, think of all the nice Jazz songs being played in the background. Sounds classy! Would be even better if there's a live band!
Hmmm... A Greasy Wedding? Hahah... This would be so funny. Dressing up to the "Grease" movie, playing songs from that Era.
Hmmm... An European Wedding? Nah, too expensive. Honeymoon to somewhere in Europe would be nice.
Theme: A Pink Jazzy Wedding? Yeah.. Jazz is nice...
Songs: One of the intro songs would be Chapel of Love by The Dixie Cups. A very nice and chirpy song.
Too many ideas for the march-in song. Maybe one of those over-used songs that's been played in too many weddings.
The song that potentially can bring a tear to my eye would be "Thank God I Found You", cause I Thank God that I Found Jesus and that He blesses me with a hubby. (*blushes*)
Flowers: My favourite flowers would be tulips, cause that's the national flower of Holland. But in SG's weather, I doubt it could last for the whole day. Maybe just a few to decorate the hall.
Otherwise could be Roses, Lilies, Orchid or even Sunflowers. Anyway, I just love flowers.
Location of ceremony: Indoors. Don't think I can stand out in the sun. But who knows, maybe by then it could be changed to a beach party? Hahah (Highly impossible for now)
Weather: Just Nice, Cool & Windy Day so when we're outdoors, we won't perspire too much.
====================================================================
That's bout all I can think of, for now. My perfect wedding, would not be written here, but would happen in reality.
For now... Waiting for my Prince Charming to be Man enough to come on his white horse.
Dream~ Dream Dream Dream~ Dream.....
Wow... Seems like a long time since I last made an entry in this precious blog. Anyway folks, I'm back into action!
Today's the Eve of the Eve of Chinese New Year! And tomorrow being a saturday, I've the whole day to finish up my phase 2 of spring cleaning. Lucky I've already cleared by clutter on my office desk. Hehe...
It's always good to clear up all the clutters. Things in the room, in the office or even in our lives.
As I was doing my phase 1 clean-up of my room a couple of weeks ago, I made up my mind to throw away a lot of things. I threw away things that held lotsa memories.. Memories of laughter... Memories of tears... And i also threw away my collection of barbie dolls and accessories. Can't believe I've kept them till now. As much as i want to pass on to my daughter, I think she'll very much prefer new ones. LOL
With the old gone, spaces are now available for the new. New clothes, new memories, new life.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17
Yes indeed. We're a new creation in Christ. Isn't it nice to always be able to start fresh, start new... I thank God for all the second chances He's given.
I guess this year will be a year of breakthrough for me. I know I'll be able to break-thru; let go of the past and onward with the future.
And as Chinese New Year falls on the same day as Valentine's Day, just wanna let you know that God's our best Valentine.
Be Blessed...
Yesterday we had a Movie Nite in Church. The movie was
The title 'Faith Like Potatoes' came from a famous American lecturer who used to tell his students that they needed faith like potatoes. He meant that their faith needed to have flesh and needed substance. As Hebrews 11:1 says, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen."
The condition for a miracle is difficulty, however the condition for a great miracle is not difficulty, but impossibility.
2. unable to be done, performed, effected, etc.: an impossible assignment.
3. incapable of being true, as a rumor.
4. not to be done, endured, etc., with any degree of reason or propriety: an impossible situation.
5. utterly impracticable: an impossible plan.
6. hopelessly unsuitable, difficult, or objectionable.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Both movies made me laugh. Haven't watched comedy for the longest of time.
Up made me laughed and cried. The story is just so sweet. The wife has a dream to go to the Paradise Falls and how the husband (Carl) promised her "Cross my heart" to fulfill the dreams.
Carl managed to fulfill his promise eventually....
The Proposal is really funny. How a scam eventually lead to a love story. Always liked Sandra Bullock's acting. Also liked the movie 'The Lakehouse' which she acted with Keanu Reeves.
*side note: Ryan Reynolds is cute!* hahaha
Both story lead me to wonder about love.
In Up I saw how the couple react to each-other. There's respect, patience, etc. And in the end, Carl with Russell the explorer, showcased how love always protects, trusts, hopes and always perseveres.
In The Proposal when Maggie begins to love Andrew, she let out the truth that their marriage was a scam to protect him from getting into trouble with the law and she had to be deported.
Eventually I thought about both the movies and asked God....
How would my love story begin...
My birthday just passed and I'm already in the late 20s category. That sets me thinking... Have I achieve much?

Me and my mom had just finished out lunch.
As mention in my previous blog, I bought my mom to my church grand opening!
After we had lunch and I've shown her around the church, the children church, decided to bring her out shopping. We went to Somerset to look for my dad as it was during his break-time and had a cuppa super sweet milk tea. Urgh...
After my dad went off to have his nap, mom mentioned to go to Bugis. So we went there to buy some stuffs, real cheap and I bought her to NYDC at Bugis Junction. The last time we had NYDC was when I was still in poly and worked there previously.
Mom had quite a bit of questions about Church, my friends, God and all the happenings. I was really happy to be able to share with her this portion of my life. I guess it made her feel included too.
After the church opening, yesterday I bought her along for our "Hairy Crab" session with some of my church friends. She waited quite a long time, almost 2 hours as church ended pretty late. Thank God she wasn't very unhappy 'bout waiting.
They are really hairy! Won't go for second rounds...
I still prefer my dad's Chilli Crabs
Satisfied after conquering the hairy crabs...
Not a word of complaint from Mom throughout the whole session of makan-ing. Guess things went pretty well. My mom has been so busy working previously I guess it was a good thing she's taking a break now. At least we can spend more time together.
Just the other day, I was watching TV with mom. The topic on the show was about being humourous. On the show they showed a short MCQ and depending on the answer chosen, it will tell on how humourous you can be. It was pretty funny and my mom scored a 80% while I only scored half of it.
When I told my mom that I'm quite funny with my friends around, then she say how come I not funny with her. I replied it has to depend on the situation that allows me to be funny mah, if nothing unusual happen, not easy leh. Hahaha...
Then my mom said she always remembered one occassion when I was still young, less than 7 years old. How I've made her laugh.
In our previous flat in Ang Mo Kio, she mention that my brother's photo and mine were hanging on the wall. With the same frame and the same size. One day, suddenly my photo dropped.
Instead of the usual reactions from people such as, "Not hung properly, the nail is loosed, etc". My mom said my reaction to her was.
"Aiyah, must be I'm too heavy". (I was a heavy baby since I was born)
Hahaha... We had a great laugh after she told me that.
Guess my humour has been with me all along, just that I had lost it along the way while growing up. Time to get it back! Hehehe...
Mothers can remember many of the little little things we've said, we've done. Hope the memories she'll have in the future would be more of the happy and lesser of the unhappy.
Thank you Daddy in Heaven for my Mom. Bless her with good health and happiness and love her too. In Jesus name I pray.
Amen...
