Looking back, I saw how God always had a plan for us, even before I was saved. I got a job into Sentosa, which paved the way for me to meet Catherine, and my lesson was scheduled in such a way that it was before Good Friday. I came to church, accepted Christ and even experienced the Joy! (Will NEVER forget that day @ Port Dickson)
As I left Sentosa without securing a new job. I know I needed great faith to trust in Him that He'll provide. Despite my parents continued nagging about getting any job that comes my way. I told them, there's no point for me to just get a job and then a few months down the road leaving it again if it deems unsuitable.
One day, whilst on my way to church, I received a call from a job agency which I don't remember sending my resume to. The lady told me about this position which sounded quite interesting, and she asked if I'm interested before she forward my resume to the company. And within 2 days, I got a call to go down for an interview on monday.
Before I went for any interviews, I always prayed to God that His Will be done, that He open all the doors if that job is for me, and to close it tightly if it is not for me. And for this particular interview, it was with 4 interviewers (Stress!!). Despite me being a bit nervous, it went rather well. Although during interview, when asked if I had any questions for them, my answer was no. And after I left the interview room, I sort of want to kick myself for not asking any questions at all. I thought they might have the impression that I'm not interested in the job. But anyway, what's done is done, and I told myself. If this is where God wants me to be, I'll get it.
And 2 days later, I got a call from them! They're offering me the position! And they are paying me at the expected salary that I've put down. This figure was one that God puts in my heart. For all my previous work, my salary difference from one job to another was just around 15% increase. And this figure that God gave me was a whooping increase of 42.8571%!
Praise God I didn't accept any job offers previously.
Today I went down to sign the contract and I'm in for more surprises!
- I know that this is a 2-year contract but there's no penalty if I leave before the 2 year is up! Yes, should God want me to go another place, I'll just need to give 1 month notice and I can leave.
- There's no probation period, so once I start work, I'm going to enjoy all the benefits (pro-rated) of course. And this would mean that I can get their year end bonus too (pro-rated too). WOW.. As with other companies that I've gone for interview, I know that usually only after the probation, then will you get the bonus.
- I'm still entitled to OT pay should I need to work overtime.
- 4 more days of annual leave from my previous work.
Well, just need to clear my medical check and I'd be officially part of the company. I know sure no problem. *^_^*
Just a note of encouragement.
Know that God always always has a plan for us. For He says:
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. - Jeremiah 29:11-12
Prayer is really, really powerful. Even at times when you don't feel like praying, don't feel like talking to God, it is actually the time you need to talk to Him even more, to hear Him clearly, for His Guidance. Because He'll always always there for us.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. Psalm 32:8
Sometimes we may not understand why certain things happen that way. We just have to flow as God guides. Prior to this job offer, actually I sort of have an offer with a construction company. I could have accepted that job, started working earlier and pleased my parents. But things just didn't feel right. Although I felt unsecure about whether I'd be able to get another job, I just had to reject it.
Praise God I didn't accept it. I would have lose out on this wonderful opportunity!
God really knows what's good for us. He even know us better than ourselves, so I know that this new job is something that I can handle, but there will definitely be something that I'll need to learn during my stay with the company.
